Jellyfish

Jellyfish are some of the most ancient creatures in the ocean, existing for over 500 million years. These gelatinous animals are marvels of simplicity, with no brain, heart, or bones. Their bodies consist of a bell-shaped dome and long tentacles armed with stinging cells used for hunting plankton and small fish.

In the water, jellyfish drift with ocean currents, their pulsating movements propelling them gently. While they seem passive, jellyfish play a crucial role in the marine food web, serving as food for sea turtles, fish, and even other jellyfish. Despite their beauty, some species, like the box jellyfish, are dangerous to humans due to their potent venom.
