The South American sea lion is a charismatic marine mammal found along the coasts of South America. These agile swimmers are known for their reddish-brown fur and playful behavior. Living in colonies, they spend much of their time in the water hunting fish, squid, and other marine life.
In the ocean, sea lions display incredible agility, using their powerful flippers to maneuver quickly. Males are territorial and often seen barking loudly to assert dominance. While they are strong swimmers, South American sea lions are vulnerable to threats like pollution and overfishing, which reduce their food supply.
